I am a German-American sociologist (Ph.D. Brandeis University), journalist, and (occasional) adjunct professor, who lives in Quito, Ecuador.Currently I work for The Real News Network (www.therealnews.com) as producer, researcher, and host.
In 2003 I helped found and edit (with others) the website www.venezuelanalysis.com, a site that provides regular news and analysis on Venezuelan society and politics. I am author of the book, Changing Venezuela by Taking Power: The Policies of the Chavez Government (Verso Books, 2007).
